The term herb is generally used to describe a plant that is herbaceous in nature, that is, it is not a tree or a shrub. However, when a witch or occultist uses the word "herb" we are generally referring to a plant that is useful without regard to its lifestyle. However, this designation often excludes those plants used for food; fruits and vegetables.
This list includes plants AND fungi that are useful to a witch, including those that are used for magick, crafting, food and healing including herbaceous plants, trees, shrubs and various fungi. Some are simply useful for decoration and some I have included for folkloric interest. That is to say; some herbs are more useful than others.

This is the list of the articles that have been written. The only way to add to it is to create another article in this category. You can request a new article be written about a specific herb here in the comments and we'll add it to the queue or contact me directly at moc.oohay|aidepihctiw#moc.oohay|aidepihctiw or you can apply to be a writer for the site and write it yourself. Always remember to never ever ingest any herb unless you have checked it in four to six references. One is just not enough. And keep in mind to only go by latin names. Folk or common names can vary by region and by country. The latin name never varies. Also never ever ingest more than one teaspoon of dried or one tablespoon of fresh herb at a time unless directed to by registered herbal healer. Even then check with your doctor first. And also remember that some herbs will interact with chemical meds you might be taking. Always check with the doctor about that. Okay. Duty done. LOL.
It has been my experience, the herb Rue is commonly overlooked in many sites ….This is curious to me…perhaps it is too esoteric to some and not enough to others, I have no idea why…In your herbal listing it is included in some of the answers but not listed as a herb itself….Hhmmm…I do not know if there will be a reply by your site, this is my first visit and do not know how diligent you are…As you will…Blessed be…🌿🌿🌿
It will be added. It is on the "wanted" list. I add articles at least weekly and tend to be cyclical in what I'm focusing on at the moment. Right now my head seems to be in the stars, but it'll come back down to Earth again soon.
This is a really great list! I was hoping to find something on Lovage. Do you have it listed under a different Name? Or is not in the list yet? If not, any chances it will be in the future?
