Long one here but I feel detail is important.
Well… Here goes: I see stuff.all the time. Corner of my eye etc. Pennies and dimes entities (?) leave me - tho I was never convinced of the pennies til last week when I was sobbing; "why won't you help me?!" kind of thing. That day I stopped crying and got in the shower, ate lunch, felt better, didn't think on it til I went upstairs and there on my bed was a fng PENNY. Right in the middle.

Yesterday, I just got the feeling I should write a letter. I should tell you that a) it's addressed to to who or what I'm not sure. Spirit, angels, whatever it is I should call what I feel us there when I pray or connect. And b) I've written these before, shorter versions, and the one I burned and buried came true…
So yesterday I wrote another letter, then read it aloud. Asked for help with x, said thanks, then put it aside. Didn't think much of it really just a sense of completion.
Some time passed I ended up taking a nap.
I woke up to blinding, flashing light where I'd left the letter. I looked out the window like it was car lights, nothing there. The lights were in working order. I thought the house was on fire (the electric would go haywire right?) but nothing.
There was no logical reason for the light.. Except… Well.. This entity that I have asked for help from that leaves me pennies.
What do you think other than I'm nuts…

Should probably start with introducing myself. I am by no means a wiccan, I am a Christian, and while I do somewhat believe in the occult, and y'all're free to do as you please, I'm not sure I'm necessarily willing to practice it myself, depending on exactly how it works.
So, one day, I noticed something rather conspicuous. Everywhere I went, I noticed a very specific shape, everywhere, almost as it it was following me- that is, a circle with three lines across it. I've taken the time to document several situations in which this happened- other people's t-shirts, logos for hotels near me, television shows (namely the logo for Allsafe Cybersecurity on Mr. Robot), video games (the logo for 50 Blessings in Hotline Miami, for example), and even more inexplicable cases, such as when I bit into a hard-boiled egg, and the yolk separated into three clear, parallel sections across the middle, or when we moved, and found a trampoline frame underneath our porch while we were tearing it out, and my father decided to assemble it, and lay three boards across it, even according to himself, for no reason. This symbol, and minor variations off of it, seems to be everywhere. I've researched this symbol, and it doesn't seem to have any sort of meaning. The closest I could find was something along the lines of a native american religion that used symbols of a circle, a circle with one line across it, and a circle with two lines across it, but not three.
Then, one day, around Halloween, I was in a spooky mood, and bought a cool fake crow, to have around. At one point I joked to a friend that it was my familiar. Later, I realized I should probably look up what a familiar actually is, just in case I was mistaken and it meant like 'bestial consort' or something I don't intend to say. The source I found said something about the fact that familiars are summoned and called using a specific symbol or sigil, and can be inherited from ancestors. It was then that I recalled this circle sigil that has been present in my life, and the fact that I have an ancestor who was burned as a witch. (side note- this ancestor was a great grand-aunt, around the 1500's, in the netherlands. She was deemed a witch because, after she borrowed a goat, it stopped giving milk. She might not have been a witch, but who knows, maybe that was the first thing they could really pin on her, and everyone already knew she was a witch.) Is it possible that I have inherited a familiar from this ancestor, and if so, what does that mean? I've read that a familiar will always help their witch or 'clever fellow' (the term they used, I think?) or whatever with anything they are doing, and are an imp sent by the devil- how inclusive is 'everything'? as I've mentioned before, I am a Christian, and while I do believe in the occult, I do intend to live my life according to Christian values. If a familiar could help me in this, that would be great, but if not, and their allegiance it first to the devil that sent it, or something, how would I go about dismissing it, or sending it back to its devil, or whatever? And how exactly does inheriting a familiar work- has it already happened, or do I need to formally accept it somehow? can I command it, and if so, how, and what are the restrictions of this? this year, I held a small Walpurgisnacht party, just to be Halloweeny, and shortly after midnight, a large black cat appeared in my yard, made direct eye contact with me, and walked into the woods near my house shortly afterwards- I know Walpurgisnacht is a pretty witchy holiday, could this have been my familiar, or something to do with it?

Edit: neglected to add, I do have an album of photographed sigils on my phone, and I could post it somewhere, if you would like, or if that could help, or anything. There aren't many, just 27, and I'd probably have to cut it down so as to avoid revealing personal information about me or those near me. There have been many more I haven't had the chance to photograph, such as while driving, or on a stranger's clothing, or the like.

Ever since i completed my self dedication rite ive been dreaming in puzzles and mazes. I see numbers. I used to havenhance clearer dreams with lots of detail, now I find myself waking up trying to price them together. Is there any way that something is blocking them from coming out? And is there a way to fix this?
Never-ending Bad Luck

(I know this topic is cliche, but—)
For at least the past 10 years (probably longer), my family and I, have had terrible, terrible luck in every way: jobs, friends, relationships, etc.
Speaking for myself, nothing ever works out well for me, and 'friends/lovers/acquaintances/coworkers' are regularly betraying me. I have tried everything I can think of to change my problems, but everything fails. Sometimes, something promising starts in my life, but before long, I find that it's the same old, and someone has screwed me over again.
Please don't tell me that it's my/our attitude, as you'll have to trust me, it's not.
At this point, I have become a strong believer in fate.
Any other ideas? Thanks.
Nightmares come true

For many years now, I've been having nightmares that come true. It runs the gamut of problems, but what concerns me most are dreams of death for those close to me. They're not common but once I dream it, it seems to come true within 3-4 monthseven in cases where death would not be expected for that person.
Am I killing those I love via my nightmares? Is there a way to stop this? Ideas, advice?
(Also, my good dreams rarely or never come true. And this proportion represents my life on the whole, I seem to be blocked and have lots of trouble.)

My friend keeps having this one particular reoccurring dream. For almst a year now. Just recently, I had it too.
It starts off normaly. I was driving up a mountain and the car stops. It's night, and dark. Then these glowey green thing apper, and I got this feeling like I was falling, and I got dizzy. After the green glowey things disappeared, the sun was dawning, and a car hit me, and I got pushed off the mountain and woke up.
My best friend is also a witch, and has described these details, except with her, the glowing things are not green, but yellow and it's raining.
What does this mean?

Protection for a Pet?

I have recently had it confirmed that my cat is pregnant. I have, of course, thoroughly researched the medical side of things but was also wondering if there are any spells to protect my cat and her kittens and promote their health (as an extension to the usual medical practices, not a substitute for them)? Would a simple spell be all that is required or will a more complex ritual (perhaps involving the use of sympathetic Magic?) be needed? Any help is much appreciated.

My sister's mother-in-law is a known witch in her community that openly dislikes my sister. My sister has found red threads sewn into her clothes and is having a hard time with her husbands behaviour becoming more and more verbally hostile(amongst other strange things happening). I was thinking of creating a witch's bottle for my sister, but I am afraid to ask her if she would like one. Because she had had bad experiences with her in-law she might get scared of me for knowing things related to witchcraft or she might feel reluctant in giving me "material" for it. Making one in secret would feel strange - like I was doing something wrong? Should I just focus on a prayer for her or do you have any other suggestion?
Should menstruation match with the right moon phase? and can a witch do spell work during her cycle or just meditate?

My cycle this month fell on the new moon but other times it falls during the waning moon which I have read that's when it actually should! I have also read that during menstruation it's a time when energies are not about the outside 'normal' world and it's more for contemplating and unravelling any messages coming to us during our cycle…What do you think? any more input into this?

An old woman confronted to me today and called me The Child of Summer and The Gemini Cain.
I looked that up and it is the biblical representation of the Gemini Adam and Eve's sons.
I honestly wasn't sure about joining the Wiccan faith until this happening.
Someone burnt both ends of a plantain and wedged it between my window and AC unit. What does this mean?

They also left a stench that came in through the AC window unit. Almost as if a skunk had sprayed my AC. This is the second time being woken in the middle of the night to this strange smell, but it only comes in through the AC. There isn't any smell outside. Searched for anything inside the unit, but all I have found is the charred plantain. What spell did they cast? What could the smell have been? And other than making a police report, what can I do to stop what they did?

How can we improve this section?
I think a few improvements would make searching the Ask the Witches section a little easier. I'm viewing this site on my iPhone. If you could see whether or not the questions had answers or not and how many answers you would know if even clicking the link would be helpful. Also the questions are written in a huge font which is not very pleasing to the eye. Maybe if the font was smaller (same color, bold) then more questions would fit on the page. I love this site!

I've done a spell to lose weight since my job has got in the way of my gym time. It said to drink the drink created of water, cinnamon, vinegar, and salt. I couldn't drink the whole thing because I thought I was going to get sick from the amount of vinegar or gulped down. Do I have to redo the spell? I've drank large gulps of that stuff..
Cinnamon is an interesting choice, usually it's cayenne. And it's not a spell. For an actual spell, it doesn't matter what you drink, it's all symbolic anyway. What you need to do is reduce your calorie intake. That beverage may help you do that by killing your appetite if you sip it whenever you feel hungry between meals instead of snacking. Also, depending on how much salt you drank, it might also cause some more pooping than you're used to. It might mess other things up too. If you don't have an ulcer or a hiatal hernia, you'll probably be okay. Just make sure you eat properly otherwise. And maybe run it by a doctor just to be safe.
Well it did tell me to drink the entire beverage. And I didn't. That's what I forgot to add to my question. I poured a little bit of that stuff out since I had a good amount of it. Can it still work?
Since you're fretting so much over it, no, it probably won't work. I told you, it's not about what you do or don't drink.
A small amount of cider vinegar in warm water is beneficial to health generally. Cinnamon or vanilla reduce cravings for sweet things, perhaps that was their purpose. Salt is cleansing, but bad for humans to ingest in large quantities. This concoction you made seems to have caused you more distress than good. If there was a large quantity of vinegar and salt, I suspect it's purpose was to make you vomit or give you diarrhoea. Neither of these things is healthy or respectful of your body. Instead, perhaps try herbs for their comforting properties, and vanilla and cinnamon for their "sweet tooth" satisfaction and use this, together with positive affirmation, to help you during some gentle exercise and a healthier diet. See the articles elsewhere on food - if you take healthy ingredients, take time to bless them, eat mindfully and gratefully, leave a small amount out to share with the universe, then this - using your own interpretations and intentions- is more powerful craft than someone else's recipe which clearly didn't work for you.
Also, I forgot to say, you can use your practise to address the problems behind your present inability to lose weight. Some of the reasons can be lack of self confidence, lack of motivation, comfort eating. The reasons can be very deep - victims of abuse, for example, over eat to make themselves unattrative to deter attention (on a subconscious level) and also people overeat as a form of self abuse due to low self-worth. Some people, like me, just love food and eat way too much of it! Look closely and be honest with yourself - no one else needs to know your reasons. Address those, using your craft to support and assist you mentally.

Remember, too, the Law of Karma (Krma, in the Sanskrit). Whatever energy you put out, willingly, will, someday be done to you, in one form, or another.
Never divulge your workings, to anyone. That weakens the spell, by suddenly adding someone else's energy and thought, to it. Once you've cast it, let it go and don't think about it. If you've cast, properly, and your spell is powerful, enough, the Universe will make the changes you've requested.

"riddle" should be "ripple"
I'm an eclectic witch and I use mostly magic in bottles. I've noticed that anytime the bottle or contents are damaged, the reverse of the spell's intent happens. I made a spell bottle for motivation, my energy hasn't been the same since it broke a year ago, despite trying to fix any fatigue problems without magic irl. I messed up a small health bottle for my gf and she was sick the next morning for just a day. At first I didn't think much of it, but it keeps happening.
I just use kitchen herbs like cinnamon or lavender in my spells, and work by whatever sign the moon is in. I'm still a novice and trying to learn. Any advice on what I can do to reverse any negative effects?

With magic, any doubt can have serious consequences with regard to how your spells work. It's all about confidence. So, if your spell item breaks and you fret over it, it can cause the spell to go awry even if you weren't specifically fretting that the spell would go awry. Even if, for example, you were just fretting about the mess or that a pretty bottle got broke or etc, it can still have an effect on the spell. If you, for exaple, thought "Wow. My magick is so awesome the bottle broke." you're less likely to have things go wrong. That all being said, if at any time you find yourself fretting over a spell object, you can neutralize the object by performing a basic cleansing, just like you do with new tools, removing and composting all the contents and cleaning up the bottle (or whatever) like new, recycle or bury it, whichever is appropriate.
Also, I think you might need to get better bottles. I personally use mason jars, not sure what you're using, but I've never had one break.
Thank you for the quick response! I never thought of it that way. I have to admit, I feel very new so its not surprising if insecurity snuck in without fully realizing it myself. It would probably do me some good to think of what I'm doing as something powerful, I could use that confidence boost overall.
I use small ones and luckily those are sturdy on the outside but, the ingredients have gone awry from me not sealing it properly, I've learned my lesson there. I used a leftover candle jar thinking it was sturdy enough but my rabbit shattered it! I still don't know how he did that. I'll take your advice and use Mason jars from now on!
Last week, an acquaintance of mine bought me a journal with a cover in the style of an old book. I am very interested in writing and I like writing a lot, especially historical ideas, and she told me I had to use the book to write something special.
Is it okay if I use information from the Witchipedia in my writing with some very minor changes as part of artistic licence? I've been researching and trying to figure out what kind of marking it was and the meaning behind it, but cannot seem to find anything. It resembled a sigil, i drew it on paper right away, and it vanished shortly after my body cooled. It appeared on my right thigh. It hasn't appeared anywhere on my body since that day, Jan 29th…. does anyone have any ideas? I'm puzzled
It happened again this morning, right now, the same mark. It's white, slightly raised, i have pictures of it now, there are bedsheet wrinkle markings on my leg beside it/over half of it, but you can clearly see a difference between them.
Is there anyone who might have a clue what this is?

I had really bad vibes from the whole situation I let myself deal with.
The last night I had any dealings with her she claimed to have been demonically possissed in the past and admitted she was a quite evil character and that she worked for 'aba'
She had mentioned that several times during the month I chose to have any dealings with her
I am not sure what your question is. But there is power in a name. A witch who gives away the names of her accomplices gives away the power to bind them.
I could not find a title to this post that summarized what I need help with. I am really hoping for insights - though I note this forum has been very quiet for almost a year.
A few years back, I had a neighbour living in a flat right below mine with whom I became good friend (long story, but she viewed me as a big sister as I helped her quite a lot, she was just out of care and was having a very rough time…)
Anyhow, few years down the line, she became a 'born again christian' as she started going out with this evangelical preacher (who did not seem to like me much….)
At some point, they went off on holidays and organised (without my knowing) for the rest of the congregation to perform and exorcism of/in their flat - it was in the middle of winter and I could hear some weird noises which slowly became louder and turned into proper incantations and speaking in tongues or whatever. It was rather spooky, especially at the beginning as I thought the building was empty and I could not locate where the noise / mumbling / praying then screaming came from…
Anyhow, ever since (my neighbour moved out within a week of coming back from her holidays), I feel like they sent whatever problem they had to me, or that I have somehow 'swallowed it' and I've been like bound to this place / flat, going from really really really difficult work/life/family situation to even harder ones… I have tried - repeatedly - the usual salt, incense, sage burning, space clearing etc… everything I can think of and more but instead of getting better, I'm having huge difficulties and problems seem getting worse.
I can't write a novel here, but just to say that my friends even sometimes say 'we don't know anyone who is as unlucky as you'…. it's just weird, I am not depressed or weak or easily influenced, and this has now been going on for ten years, so i am quite resilient, but I am getting a little tired.
My question is thus twofold:
Is it possible that whatever was binding my neighbours has now been sent over to me?
and if so, how can I get rid of this / send it back / destroy it etc..
