I would use the waning moon. Not the New Moon. The Dark Moon would be alright.
I would use Venus to get a relationship started, or to enhance it. And I would use Mars to bring it to an end. Follow those links to the planet page and you should find some useful correspondences.
The same type of things you would for creating love, just in a different manner, and with a different intent.
The subject matter is still the same, so many of the same herbs and crystals can be used, but magical time as Morningbird noted would be different.
Herbs: Roses, Lavender, apples, basil, cherries, chamomile, cinnamon, cloves, dandelions, almost any flower really.
Crystals: Rose quarts, and chrysocolla make a powerful combo, particularly for bad relationships, quartz, watermelon tourmaline, anything of the pink variety, and blues to help ease the situation.
Roses are great for relationships, in this context of ending a relationship I would take a rose empowered with the relationship, or even with the names of those in the relationship written on the petals, and put it in a jar to wither making sure there is moisture in the jar.
As the rose wilts and dies, and rots away so to does the relationship, once the rose is sufficiently decayed and gross, bury it (away from the home) to let it completely decompose on the night of the dark moon, or any night during the waning phase (coming up soon). This not only banishes the relationship from the home, by moving it elsewhere, it is also great symbolically for as something dies, and ends something new, and better can flourish from its ashes. As the decomposing rose will become fertilizer for the surrounding plants. And the earth with surround, absorb and negate any negativity from the relationship/rose, and transform it.
