What are the limits of witchcraft?
I'm new to witchcraft and want to study it, and one major question I could never find the answer to was: What are the limits of witchcraft? What I'm asking, is if anything is possible. For example, manipulation of a persons thoughts or actions, or transformation that turns a being into something else. You know, the kind of stuff you hear in stories and see in movies. All I hear is that anything is possible, but I wanted to ask the community for answers, since I don't know how far 'anything' goes. Thanks for any reply I receive!

what a brave question and most witches would say, that is what you choose with each spell, which why many times you will be warned don't anger the gods and goddesses. also, that is a simple way to moniter yourself, but if you wanted a generic limit - i would suggest limitless. comsider a 'colapse' or infinate mimickery a staple guide, but their are many verbal suggestions you should chase.
Anything that can be accomplished through mundane means can theoretically be accomplished through magick. That's a Crowley paraphrase and I find it to be true. Manipulation of thoughts and actions is really easy. Advertising companies do it all the time. I would say it's instinctive. Children are born knowing how to manipulate people. I would say that manipulation of thought and action is so prevelent that the real magick lies in knowing if your thoughts and actions are your own or the result of manipulation! Transnforming the physical is theoretically possible in some instances, but much more difficult to acheive. I have seen witches make transformations on a cellular level for healing of disease for example, but on a macro level this would be much more difficult, while it is theoretically possible, it is not probable. Witchcraft is subtle and the changes it makes are subtle and rely upon the domino effect to bring about larger changes. A physical object that isn't really subject to change isn't going to see much affect from it. Something that is always growing and changing is much more susceptable to magick. Magick is like a little tiny crowbar that changes the direction something is going ever so slightly. The big changes come down the road resulting from the slightly larger changes that the tiny change caused to happen, and larger changes that those caused to happen. If you have something like a rock that doesn't change much in the first place, you're not going to get far trying to change it from a gray rock to a blue rock, unless you plant the idea in someone's head that they really want to paint that rock blue.
