Wicca and Paganism are two different things. You could call Wicca a type of Neo-Paganism or, considering its synchretic nature, MesoPaganism. Either would put it under the Pagan umbrella, but it is a unique type of Paganism. There are many types of Wicca. If you're going to start with Wicca, I suggest you look into the writings of the founders of Wicca, like Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente and about a gajillion authors who came after them, some building upon what they built, some going off in whole new directions to create new types of Wicca.
If you want to be Pagan you should look at the classics, depending on the Pagan Gods you wish to follow, the cultural ancestry of the people who worshiped them in antiquity. Most of these can be found at sacred-texts.com There are lots of Pagan religions based in Greek, Celtic, Roman, Babylonian etc. historical spiritual practices. (Those based in Scandinavian practices tend to call themselves Heathen rather than Pagan), there's Druidry, Nova Roma, Rodnovery, and more. Some are reconstructionists, trying to recreate ancient religion as closely as possible while others are more flexible and some recreate ancient religions in a whole new modern context. If you're going to be Pagan, probably the first thing you want to do is decide which Gods you want to worship and then decide how you're going to worship them. You don't have to join an official Pagan religion to be Pagan, you can do things solo. Totally okay.
As with any serious spiritual endeavor, I highly recommend learning meditation and maybe practicing lucid dreaming and dream incubation. These will help you be more open to communication from the divine.
