I want to put a protection spell on something, does it have to be a necklace?
I want to look for something that I can attempt to put a protection spell on, does it have to be a necklace? Can it be a ring or something else? I don't want it to be obvious. I don't really want an amulet hanging from my neck telling people I study witchcraft. Do you have any good websites I can buy a small necklace, or ring? Also, could I just make my own necklace?

No. It can be anything. Shoes, a coat, hand lotion, hair gel. You can make it or buy it. If you buy it, you'll want to cleanse it first.
I, and several others I know, carry a small soapstone carved animal representing our personal animal guide, or in my case, my familiar. I have even carved small, coin-style talismans specifically for use as a vehicle for a protection spell…..to prevent damage from keys, money, etc. to the figures or talisman coins, they are kept in a small bag made of leather or velvet.
