Check out our informational page about Wicca to get a general idea and then do some reading.
Doreen Valiente, Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland are good authors for the would-be Wiccan to explore. It is also a good idea to go to your local metaphysical store and see if there are any classes being offered on the subject. You may have to call around a bit. It is better to go to a few classes first to get your feet wet than to jump right into a coven.
I would also suggest contacting Covenant of the Goddess (COG) at cog.org if you are looking for mentors in your area. I agree with Morningbird about the authors. Be wary of blogs. The information on some can be quite wrong.
