Do traditional witches exist?
Do traditional witches exist?
My friends said there's a difference between a standard witch, a new witch and a traditional witch as they say the souls of previous witches pass over to the new host/person i.e. their spirit reincarnates and I was wondering
1) Do traditional witches exist?
2) If so what's the difference between a traditional and non-traditional
3) Do witches have souls that reincarnate?

Any discussion relating to what happens after death is going to be speculation because the truth is nobody knows. Many witches believe in reincarnation and many believe that a talent for witchcraft can be inherited from earlier incarnations. Traditional Witchcraft is indeed a thing but I'm not sure it relates to your question. Traditional Witches are following a tradition that was handed down by parents or mentors. I have no idea what you mean by a standard witch or a new witch. There is NeoPagan Witchcraft, New Age Witchcraft, Indigenous Witchcraft, etc. etc. etc.
I found this question really interesting…. and the following is just a personal opinion, and may not be what everyone thinks or believes…
I am considered (amongst other things) a Traditional Witch. This isn't the same as a Hereditary Witch, and it can encompass a lot of differing traditions and paths.
Basically, a Traditional Witch is someone who firstly is a Witch (obviously lol), and secondly, practises Witchcraft in a time-old way. Using herbs for healing, being a counsellor for people, understanding nature and the cycle of nature as well as the cycle of life - but embracing those cycles as well as understanding them.
Traditional Witches don't necessarily centre their Path on Divinity - they often see the Divine within nature and the cycles of life.
I guess really, a Traditional Witch is a bit of an eclectic mix of green, nature, eclectic, hedge, herbal, and hearth witch - all rolled into one.
Traditional Witches do see being a Witch as a way of life rather than a religion - the religious (and thus the Divine) aspect of witchcraft aren't necessarily ignored - they are just not a needed part of the Path chosen.
It is difficult to explain and make clear - but I do hope this gives some sort of insight.
