my experience is that the broader you leave the parameters, the easier it is to accomplish the task.
as long as you are satisfied with the candle being lit, anything could count; maybe you focus your intent and then someone else lights it for you, maybe you just light it for yourself after your mind has desired it to be lit. if the impulse was born in your mind, and it is carried out, then you have willed it; but you still have to coexist with the forces that exist outside yourself. that's a good leo lesson, as well.
especially with fire, it is important that you respect it. fire is an element that will gladly incite burning to further your learning. you must recognize that it has certain needs and principles, and that you have to work with it. calling fire to a damp space won't respect it's strengths, and calling fire to a dry and fragile place may underestimate its destructive capabilities.
in conclusion, there has to be a pathway for action to be born out; things don't happen on this plane with no physical properties to back them up. it still has to work with the rest of the physical universe. sometimes the expansion of your imagination is what allows the strongest magic to occur. practice that mind-expansion in your dreams.
